What does “Export as a Service” mean in practice? Accelerating export-driven growth is an important part of the task assigned to Fintraffic by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Fintraffic's Air Navigation Services aims to continuously improve the flow and predictability of its services with customers in mind. For this reason, the customer satisfaction survey, which was carried out in a similar way for years, has undergone a complete overhaul this year.

The Finnish aviation community is seeking shared solutions and coordinated measures to reduce unruly behaviour. In May, just before the busiest flight season, the community launches a joint campaign titled “Put yourself in flight mode”.

The National Traffic Information Database combines data from over 300 sources into a common public transport database. “In the past, creation of mobility services used to require a software project; today, the same can be achieved by subscribing to a single interface.”

Härmän Liikenne aims for the best customer service in the region. As part of this effort, the 60-year-old bus company, with a fleet of over 100 buses, uses bus stop displays of the matka.fi service for impactful service.

Fintraffic studied the value of the traffic data economy with consultancy firm FLOU in December 2024. According to the study, the value of the traffic data economy in Finland has increased to EUR 500 million, more than EUR 50 million of which is produced by Fintraffic alone (+35% since 2022).

The police and Fintraffic work closely together to ensure smooth and safe traffic, especially in exceptional situations.

A wide variety of aviation operators responded to the survey, ranging from strategic partners in air navigation and flight schools to smaller airport operators and general aviation representatives. This year, the total number of respondents and the percentage of pilots among respondents was slightly lower than in the previous year. On the other hand, the overall cooperation score for Fintraffic's Air Navigation Services increased slightly, rising to 4.0 this year (2023: 3.8).

Luxembourg Air Navigation Administration, which is responsible for air navigation services in Luxembourg, has simulated new air traffic control working methods in Finland.

A new working method concept will be validated for Luxembourg’s air traffic control in Fintraffic’s air navigation simulators. The aim will be to obtain data on new working methods on the basis of which their practical functionality and prerequisites for operational deployment can be verified.

The Destia Winter Maintenance Management Centre utilises the road weather information provided by Fintraffic on a daily basis, all year round. Fintraffic road weather data makes it possible to carry out maintenance measures in the road network in a timely manner. This helps to save costs.
