Fintraffic’s Air Navigation Services’ Flight Planning Centre (FPC) was established 15 years ago. Its purpose was to centralise support for air navigation services nationally at a single location. The Flan Planning Centre is a unique entity in Finland, and there is no equivalent anywhere in Europe. To celebrate the FPC’s anniversary, we are taking a look at how centralised flight planning services have been built over the years up to today.

Fintraffic studied the value of the traffic data economy with consultancy firm FLOU in December 2024. According to the study, the value of the traffic data economy in Finland has increased to EUR 500 million, more than EUR 50 million of which is produced by Fintraffic alone (+35% since 2022).

The new Fintraffic Mobile application brings real-time traffic data from Finnish roads and rail traffic to road users and rail passengers. The application utilises real-time data obtained directly from Fintraffic’s traffic centres. Location-based push notifications inform the user immediately when something abnormal happens nearby on the roads or on a preferred rail route.
