VTS Finland has signed a cooperation agreement with the Port of Vaasa. According to the agreement, vessel traffic services will be provided in the port’s administrative area starting from 1 October 2019.
As of 1 November 2019, the Port of Vaasa will also implement a departure permission procedure, which means that in order to be granted permission to depart, the vessel must submit a departure report to the VTS. The permission to depart issued by the VTS is valid for 20 minutes. In addition, passenger vessels following a schedule have priority over other traffic.
