020 428 4800. Huom.! Peruutetun (CNL) lentosuunnitelman status jää ”CANCELED” tilaan.
What should I do if the status of a flight plan or other message I sent via Fintraffic Sky remains in the "PENDING" state for a long time?
Answer: If the status of the message you sent has not changed to "ACCEPTED" within 15 minutes of sending the message, or its status remains in an unresolved "ERROR" state, please contact FPC, tel. +358 20 428 4800. Note! The status of a cancelled (CNL) flight plan remains in the "CANCELED" state.
I have a drone, do I need to use Fintraffic Sky?
Answer: It depends: If you are flying in an controlled airspace or anywhere in Finland above 120 meters, you need to submit a drone plan on Fintraffic Sky. Exceptions are areas which are reserved for drone flights/RC planes (green areas on Fintraffic Sky) where flying above 120 meters doesn't require an announcement unless some other airspace reservation overlaps with the green area and restricts the usage of the green area. It's always better to submit a drone plan because if there are other drone pilots in the same area or otherwise there is a need to contact you then contact details can be found.
How do I know where is free and restricted airspace?
Answer: On Fintraffic Sky you can see active airspace areas with solid lines (not with dotted lines) with different colors, green, yellow, red, blue. A green area indicates that it's meant for drones/RC planes. However, it might overlap with an active restricted/prohibited/danger area which limits flying a drone there. Click the area to see more information. If you are in an area where there is nothing shown, you are in a free airspace.
Where to find more information about drone fying?
Answer: Please check https://droneinfo.fi and Ohjeita dronen lennättäjille | Fintraffic.
I want to fly with a drone in Korvatunturi, which is near the Eastern boarder on the ADIZ area, what should I do?
Answer: You need to submit an RPAS flight plan (FPL) on Fintraffic Sky. Although a drone plan is not mandatory it's highly recommended that you submit also a drone plan. Korvatunturi is located in the R100 area. You can submit a flight plan several days in advance. A flight plan must be submitted at least 2 hours before the flight. You also need a permission from the Finnish Defense Forces for flying in the R100 area. Instructions for applying a permit can be found here: Instructions for aerial photographers - Puolustusvoimat - The Finnish Defence Forces
I'm going for several days to EFD400 (not EFR100) area to the Eastern border and want to fly with a drone. What should I do?
Answer: Submit one RPAS flight plan per day with Fintraffic Sky. One RPAS flight plan per day is enough although you would fly several times a day with a drone. Submit also a drone plan although it's not a requirement to ensure helicopters, aeroplanes and other drones can see your flight. The RPAS flight must be submitted to EFD400 area in miminum one our in prior the intended take off time. To EFR100 area the time limit is 2 hours. There is no need apply a permit from the Finnish Defense Forces if you don't film the EFR100 area. The military instructs this way: "In the EFD400 area, no permission is generally required for flying a drone or taking photos, provided that the activity is small-scale and does not target garrison areas, defense force facilities, fortifications, or exercises of the defense forces or the border guard." The RPS instructions is found at Instructions | Fintraffic in English Open a pdf document over there. On the OTHER INFORMATION (RMK)-field add DEP and DEST as in the instructions, after the RMK/-text you can freely describe where you are going to fly. You can save your RPAS flight plan as a template or open one of you previous RPAS plans and use them as a template just modifying e.g. the DOF (Date of Flight) field to avoid typing everything from the scratch.
I want to fly with a drone from Finland to Sweden or from Finland to Norway, what should I do?

I'm a paraglider, sail plane pilot, balloon pilot: Where do I create flight plan??
