ANS Finlands Avia College to train air traffic controllers in Luxembourg

ANS Finland has won an international tender for training air traffic controllers in Luxembourg in 2020–2021.

The training agreement includes providing about six students from Luxembourg with basic air traffic control training, two groups of students with “relocation training” and students of a currently ongoing course with a training module. The agreement also includes an option for various validation, testing and simulation study modules.

“I am delighted that there is demand for Avia College’s services even in these challenging times. Over the past few years, we have trained air navigation professionals from various countries in Europe, including Sweden, Estonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and gained a strong reputation as a high-quality provider of air navigation training services. Additional revenue is very welcome for ANS Finland,” says Matts-Anders Nyberg, the Principal of Avia College.

Next year, all air traffic controllers in Luxembourg will complete regulation-compliant refresher training with Avia College’s simulator in Vantaa.

Basic training will begin in September, provided that the coronavirus pandemic situation allows it.

The number of applicants for the air traffic controller’s training in January 2020 was 1,718. Annually, about 10 new Finnish students begin their studies.
