Does Air Navigation Services process personal data outside the EU or EEA?

In most of the services described in this Privacy Policy, Air Navigation Services does not transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA. However, there are a number of exceptions, which are explained below.

Data disclosures to Eurocontrol and ICAO require regular data transfers outside the EU/EEA. These data transfers apply to the Airspace management service, the Avia College training services and the Flight planning centre.
In exceptional circumstances, the Aeronautical rescue service (ARCC) might need to transfer data to perform rescue missions and investigations. Personal data collected by the Flight planning centre might also be disclosed to certain private companies outside the EU/EEA on a case-by-case basis.

In all the situations described above, data might also be transferred to countries not covered by a European Commission’s decision on the adequacy of protection. In such situations, the protection of personal data is ensured in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation; for example, by means of standard contractual clauses approved by the EU Commission and additional safeguards that complement them.
Fintraffic Group’s Data Protection Officer will provide additional information on data transfers outside the EU/EEA when necessary.
